Charles is the Principal of the firm. A former partner of the longstanding Gold Coast law practice Primrose Couper Cronin Rudkin, Solicitors. Charles was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1979 and joined Primrose Couper and Cronin, as it then was, in 1981. He was a Principal of Primrose Couper and Cronin from January 1984 and a Principal of Primrose Couper Cronin Rudkin from 1985 when that firm commenced.

Apart from his relationship based practice Charles has broad litigation experience and a particular interest in the law of professional negligence. At the present time he is handling at least half a dozen cases involving negligence claims against other solicitors arising from relationship disputes or settlements.

Charles also has a particular interest in advocacy and has appeared as counsel on behalf of his clients in all courts in Queensland. He is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and Family Law Practitioners Association.

Charles is also a Queensland Law Society accredited mediator.

Sally has worked with Charles Cooper since November 1998 in the area of Family Law. Whilst with Primrose Couper Cronin Rudkin, Sally developed a busy family law practice and this has continued with Charles Cooper Lawyers.

In October 2005 Sally was accredited by the Queensland Law Society as a Family Law Specialist.

Sally practices extends to the full range of family law matters including relationship agreements, divorce, property settlements, domestic violence and issues involving the parenting and welfare of children.

She has a Bachelor of Law degree from the Southern Cross University and is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and Family Law Practitioners Association.

Damira Hidic, Solicitor

Damira has worked with Charles Cooper since early 1998. She obtained her law degree through external studies with the Queensland University of Technology and undertook work during that time in the areas of Family Law, Estate Planning and Commercial Law. She qualified as a solicitor in 2003 from which time she has practiced almost exclusively in Family Law and relationship based disputes.

She has a keen interest in matters relating to deceased estates and Migration Law. Damira is also a Registered Migration Agent (RMA) practicing in Immigration Law.

Damira speaks and writes fluent Serbian, Bosnian and Croatian. She able to provide language assistance to clients of the firm in those languages, in connection with whole spectrum of the firms service capacity. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and Family Law Practitioners Association.

Anish Rebello, Solicitor

Anish has been a solicitor at Charles Cooper Lawyers since January 2008. Originally from Toronto, Canada, he has been in Australia for almost five years.

Anish obtained his Bachelor of Laws, Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice and his Masters of Laws in Dispute Resolution at Bond University on the Gold Coast. Anish completed his four month placement as part of his Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice under Charles Cooper in the Family Law section at the former firm Primrose Couper Cronin Rudkin.

Anish was admitted as a Solicitor in July 2007.

Anish has a keen interest in all aspects of Family Law and has a special interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution. He practices in many different areas of Family Law, from divorce and property settlement through to domestic violence issues and children's matters.

Morgan joined Charles Cooper Lawyers in September 2007, initially to undertake the practical training component of the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice program.

During her practical training placement, Morgan developed a particular interest in the many facets of Family Law practice.

Morgan was admitted to practice in Queensland in 2008 and now assists the firm's clients in her capacity as a newly admitted lawyer under the supervision of the firm's Principal, Charles Cooper.

She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and Family Law Practitioners Association.

Hayley Condon, Articled Clerk

Hayley is a seven year Articled Clerk and has been with Charles Cooper Lawyers since the firm commenced. She has worked with Charles Cooper, the Principal of the firm, since 2002. Hayley is currently completing her law degree as an external student of the Queensland University of Technology and will be admitted as a solicitor in 2008.

Hayley has principally practiced in the area of Family Law and has developed a wide experience in assisting clients in domestic violence matters, children's matters and matrimonial and de facto property settlements.

Marilyn Bjelis, Legal Secretary

Marilyn is a legal secretary and paralegal who has been with the predecessor firm since 1988. Marilyn has been Charles’ secretary and assistant for seven years.

She has previously worked in large legal practices in Sydney and in New Zealand and has many years of experience as a legal secretary.

Marilyn has a very good relationship with Charles’ clients and a good knowledge of his matters. As a result, she is able to assist existing clients with their general enquiries.

Marilyn is usually the first point of contact with the firm for new clients, who come mostly via referral from other (non-Family Law) lawyers and satisfied former clients. She is able to endorse the favourable comments made by referees and assure new clients that they have made the correct choice of firm when coming to Charles Cooper Lawyers.

Joy Slogrove, Legal Secretary

Joy is one of the firm's senior legal secretaries. She has been with Charles Cooper Lawyers since the firm's inception. Joy provides secretarial support to all of the firm's professional staff and is a highly experienced member of the firm.

Prior to starting with Charles at the predecessor firm, Primrose Couper Cronin Rudkin, Joy had worked with other law firms in the Gold Coast area.

Joy has an excellent rapport with the firm's clients and is an extremely dedicated and valuable member of the Charles Cooper Lawyers team.

Kelly Day, Legal Secretary

Kelly is one of the firm's senior Legal Secretaries and has been with Charles Cooper Lawyers since the firm's commencement.

Kelly is a highly experienced member of the firm and has worked alongside Charles Cooper for five years.

Kelly provides secretarial services to all of the firm's professional staff and has worked in the area of Family Law for many years. She is an extremely committed and valuable member of the Charles Cooper Lawyers team and is pleased to assist the firm's clients with their matters in whatever way possible.

Michaela is the most recent addition to the Charles Cooper Lawyers team. Michaela comes to us with a background in legal secretarial work and she has quickly established herself as a valuable member of staff.

Michaela's friendly nature has helped her to build an excellent rapport with the firm's clients since commencing with Charles Cooper Lawyers in July 2008.
